A Study on Hypertension Related Lifestyle of Middle Aged Women in A Rural Area of Koje City

Abstract

This study was performed to Identify the hypertension related factors In a rural area of Koje city The subjects for th~s study were 319 nilddle aged women(40-59 years) out of 765 target population In Jangmok-myoun of Koje c~ty. They were interviewed with structured questionnaire Including general characterlstlcs and lifestyles, and their blood pressures wcrc measured for hypertension screening from January, 2005 to February. 2005. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS statistics program. The results were as follows The prevalence rate or 319 study populat~on was 25.7% Education level. job. history of other diseases. family hlstory of hypertension in general character~stic variables were significantly associated with hypertenslon. In S U ~ J ~lCife~stSyl’e the amount of meat intake. the amount of fish tntake and exercising were significant statistically. In multlple logtstic regression analysis for hypertension. history of other diseases, family history of hypertenslon, menopausal status and the amount of meat intake were tdentified as s~gnificant variables
